Where I call home... Charlottesville, VA, although after spending the past year and a half in Austin, Texas, I think I have a pair of cowboy boot footprints permanently stamped on my hear
Favorite way to enjoy the LOVE... Mashed up ripe banana, a glob of whichever homemade crazy flavored nut butter I have on hand, a sprinkling of LOVE, and a dash of almond milk...layers of LOVE-liness ;) [Had you asked me two months ago, I would have said something about yogurt...but sadly for me, I'm now dairy-free!]
Five things I can't live without...
my food processor, footnotes (read my blog and you'll understand), hugs, hummus, chopsticks (so versatile, nut butter stirrers and spreaders, skewers for fruit salad...or, you know, use 'em in the normal way)
I look up to...a woman named Bertha who has worked for my mom's family for over 50 years. I have learned from her that food is love, and that intelligence is not always something you find in a classroom or in a book. I wish I had her patience and her selflessness!
I blog because...
of the community I have found! I honestly had no idea how much support and friendship would come from my blog when I started it. I have made new friends and reconnected with old ones; I've met some in person, and only communicated with others via e-mail or blogger exchange packages, but it is so much fun to be a part of a welcoming food-loving world! An added bonus was the discovery that I have such a passion for writing; blogging has given me confidence to submit essays and work to other outlets aside from my little ol' blog. [Also, being invited to free dinners and whatnot IS sort of fun, isn't it? ;)]
