Ride for the Pass

Hope on your bike and gain some altitude! The Ride for the Pass, a charity bike race/recreational ride to benefit the Independence Pass Foundation, will be held Saturday, May 21, 2011, in Aspen, Colorado. The Ride will follow the traditional route from the Winter Gate, four miles east of Aspen, to the Independence Ghost Town approximately 10 miles east up Highway 82 on Independence Pass. The Ride gains approximately 2,500 feet of elevation, from 8,550’ to 11,100’, over the 10-mile route. The Ride is followed by a party in Aspen featuring free beer and many drawing prizes donated by Roaring Fork Valley businesses. This year’s party will be at the Sky Hotel on East Durant Street.

When: Saturday May 21, 2011 at 9:00am (competitive start) or 9:30 (recreational start)

Anthem Fight For Air Climb

The Anthem Fight for Air Climb, formerly Run the Republic, gives you the opportunity to say you’ve climbed the tallest building in the Rocky Mountain West – the Republic Plaza in downtown Denver. The Anthem Fight for Air Climb raises funds for lung health issues that are more critical now than ever before.  Lung disease is the third leading cause of death in the United States. While the death rates of cancer and heart disease are decreasing, deaths from lung disease are increasing at an alarming rate.

And did I mention prizes??? This is a 6 week long challenge from February 14th to March 28th to see what changes you can make in your life to create a happier, healthier, stronger, leaner you! Jingle Bell Run/Walk® is a fun and festive way to kick off your holidays by helping others! Wear a holiday themed costume. Tie jingle bells to your shoelaces. Run or walk a 5 kilometer route with your team members and celebrate the season by giving.

Summit For Life

Join us for a weekend celebration of donor awareness activities in Aspen, Colorado centered around a nightttime uphill race to the top of Aspen Mountain benefitting the Chris Klug Foundation. This epic event is for a great cause and is a perfect challenge to start off your ski season!

In this exciting event, contestants race from the base of Aspen Mountain all the way to the top. They will climb 3,267 vertical feet – over 2.5 miles uphill and at night! Racers can choose their own lighting and non-motorized equipment like snowshoes, skins or other creative gear.

When: Friday December 10: PARTY FOR LIFE at Pacifica Seafood and Raw Bar @ 10pm and Saturday December 11th at the base of Ajax–Recreational Start is at 5:15pm and the Competitive Start is at 6pm

Movember ASPEN and Love Grown have joining together to support Movember which challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple; start Movember 1st clean-shaven, then grow a moustache for the entire month. Get friends and family to donate to your efforts. The Mo becomes the ribbon for men’s health, allowing men across the globe to raise awareness and funds for cancer affecting men.

Funds raised by Movember in the U.S. benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG.

One Love Colorado, ‘108 Sun Salutations’ is an endeavor to raise $20,000 for Off the Mat, Into the World a non-profit organization that helps communities in crisis. The funds raised will help children who have been orphaned by the HIV/AIDS epidemic in South Africa and organizations who work to address this crisis in a holistic way.

Come out for a day on the trail! Join us and the Highlands Ranch Community Association for their second annual 1/2 marathon in Highlands Ranch. This is an amazing course utilizing the Douglas County and new HRCA Backcountry trails. The race starts at 6,000 ft. It goes up to a high point of 6,400 ft and then back down to 5.900 ft… all before the turn around. It is not a lot of elevation gain, but there is alot of up and down.

This is a challenging course with 95% of it on dirt trails. Dogs and strollers are not allowed. This course has amazing views, possibly wildlife viewing and a mountain feel to it right here in Highlands Ranch. This event is going to be STELLAR…you don’t want to miss it!
