Ahi Tuna Steaks

Serves 4


4 (6-8oz; 3/4 inch thick) Ahi Tuna Steaks
4 tbsp dark sesame oil
3 tsp molasses
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 scallions, sliced thinly
Sea Salt to taste


Gently rinse Ahi under cold water. Pat dry with a paper towel and place in a re-sealable container. Whisk together the sesame oil, molasses, garlic, and scallions. Pour marinade over steaks, sprinkle with a pinch of salt, and tightly seal the container. Place in the fridge and allow to sit for up to 1 hour.

Heat grill or a non-stick skillet over a medium-high flame. Once pan is hot, remove steaks from fridge and place the onto grill/pan. Cook for about 1-1.5 minutes per side, varying on thickness and desired result. Thinly slice and serve with wasabi or jalapeƱo pesto* (see Sauces/Marinades for recipe).
